For those who just discovered this game and this is the only thing you have ever seen from the Warhammer 40k Universe….. Warhammer was bringing out books and producing minies over a decade before Halo and Gears of war… Wayyy back in the 80’s…. look at company timeline before making assumptions.

Had that Firewarrior I s’pose – though it’d need drastic(!) improving if it was to become anywhere close to something time-lasting, a classic of any kind.
I have a good feeling about Space Marine though, and while maybe not delivering the truely awesome feel that imprints a game on the mind for years to come, I have no doubt about it kicking vast quantities of backside.
Hope it’s got good replayability, would suck to be a play’n'forget experience

Sorry, buddy, but the only classic here is WH40K. WH40K came way before those games, and while I’m not denying that yes, they may be good, you obviously have never played the series if you say that Gears and Halo trump WH40K in story development, for one. I would rather play over WH40K instead of fighting endless waves of aliens over again without any real strategy. And multi player… I believe that’s best left to the console gamers… they need that more than we PC’ers.

heresy! despite this game’s aura of epic, it will never trump the power of the Gears and Halo. In terms of story development, replayability, and multiplayer, those games will always dwarf this one, but dont get me wrong, this game looks good, and will no doubt be fun, but i highly doubt it will supass the classics
